Dr. Mohamad Hakim is a Board Certified General Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University – School of Medicine in Detroit Michigan in 1986. He then went on to complete his surgical residency at the Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center in 1992.
In 2010 Dr. Hakim was elected to be Chief of Surgery and Trauma Director at Beaumont Hospital, where he was responsible for ensuring that patients achieved quality outcomes. Dr. Hakim focused on patient’s needs and goals. He then went on to become Vice Chief of Staff at Beaumont Hospital – Dearborn Campus.
His practice in General Surgery provided him with extensive experience in addressing a wide-range of medical problems, which included breast care, laparoscopic surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, hernia surgery with the da Vinci robotic procedure, vein care, laser-based cosmetic procedures, facial rejuvenation with injectables, and manual follicular extraction (FUE), which lead to his interest in ARTAS Robotic. Dr. Hakim is the first physician to provide the ARTAS Robotic procedure in the Metro Detroit Area. With this cutting-edge technology, patients go under a virtually painless procedure with no linear scar.
Dr. Hakim is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wayne State University- School of Medicine.
In Dr. Hakim’s free time he enjoys spending time with his family and is known to always invite family and friends over to host his favorite BBQ. He also is an avid biker and enjoys living a healthy lifestyle.
